I have my form as a surface, but I've had a lot of trouble turning it in to a reasonable polygonal object for unfolding in Pepakura. I might just end up doing it by hand for the broad part, which is ok.
Thanks for posting an image of your progress. I have to see the mesh in Rhino to see the depth of the long section. I agree that as the image looks right now, the long section may be easy to cut on the laser cutter and then apply a few vertical scores by hand. Looking forward to seeing how your project idea is developing-B
